On my way..
The Singapore Airport is great! Cheap coffee, free and fast wireless internet and even european power plugs. ![]()
Heading off to catch my next flight to Frankfurt soon.
I finally got to watch Kung Fu Hustle on the plane to Singapore, it was... strange.. but still fun!
Also I watched Transformers, which was.. uhm.. not too bad, but I'm happy not having paid for seeing it in the cinema.
Bye Australia!
In a few minutes I'll be in the plane back home to Austria!
So, thanks to everyone I met and especially to the ones that hosted me for making this month an awesome one!
Thanks to: Bonnie, Tom, Eliza, Romana, Aussie, Borko, Nathan, Michael, Duncan, Christine, Nathan, Christopher, Rose, Kaz, Jake, Nick, Damian, Rhett, Gai, Jon, Nick #2, Djota, Jess, and everyone who I forgot
Yesterday I did nothing special, just walked around in Sydney, spent most time in Starbucks, sketching.
The day before I've taken a tour through the Cascade Brewery in Hobart (they make the best beer in Australia):
I also met Babette from Germany there, who was the only other Visitor from overseas there.

Me and Babette in the Visitor Center, fake Thylacine and Brewery in the Background
Babette had to leave for the next tour soon, I stayed a bit and got lots of free beer (at 11:00 in the morning). Almost missed my next Tour because I forgot about the time.
I still made it back to the center and catched the Bus that took me to Bonorong Wildlife Park. The Park itself was great, but the Tour reminded me why I hate guided Tours. We only had one hour there, so I split apart from the group to get to see the Quolls (Eastern and Spotted-Tail). The other visitors only saw Koalas and Wombats, because the Tourguides obviously didn't know they only had 1 hour.

Eastern Quoll, who preferred to sleep long.
After it the Bus took us to Richmond, which seems to be an Attration because of very old Buildings. Boring old Buildings. I would have preferred to stay in the Wildlife Park, but a combined tour was the only Option available.. I've seen the oldest Church in Australia there, which looked quite nice, but not nice enough to waste your bandwith with it.
I'll post all Sketches I did in Australia on Friday!
Hobart Photos
Spent the whole day in the City, exploring Hobart, chilling in the park and anjoying the wonderful weather!
I even found a DDR Cabinet, probably the closest one to South Pole

DDR at Intencity in the Village Cinema
And I found another great Art Store!
Click "continue reading" for more impressions of Hobart.
Franklin Square
Sitting there and sketching a bit. Internet connection is slow as my provider doesn't have an UMTS network here, only EDGE, which is slow.
More photos to come when I'm back at my hosts place.
Welcome to Hobart
Just Arrived, rains every now and then, but from what I've seen now, Tasmania is beautiful!
More photos to come.
Bye Melbourne
Packing my stuff at the moment and leaving for Hobart in 2 hours.
Not much to tell, only watched John Rambo 2 days ago with the people here, been to the city yesterday, no amazing photos though, weather sucked.
Forecast says it will be really cold in Tasmania too.
Feeding Tigers
15°C and rain today.. weird weather, especially considering that it had 35°C yesterday.. but my host told me that weather changes like this are not that unusual here.
Met up with Nick (who also organized that I could stay at Kaz' place) today, we went to the Melbourne Zoo.
Great Zoo, they had lots of interesting animals there, like tree kangaroos, meerkats, red pandas, jaguars, pumas, tigers, lions, lemurs, and most surprisingly, coatis!

Coati (cc) flickr user Timmy Toucan
Couldn't get any good shots of it myself though, because the coatis were both sleeping, and the short time when they moved I was too slow.. but well, I've seen them at least ![]()
Here are some other photos I took:
Nick, who was a Zoo volunteer, managed to get me to see a Tiger feeding from the Zookeepers side later. We could get up really close to the Tigers, amazing!

And I even got to feed one young and one adult Tiger!
It was an amazing experience, thanks again to Nick for making this possible!
Melbourne City
Had a nice (and pretty hot) day in Melbourne. Kaz, my host showed me around in the inner city a bit.
And I played some DDR in an Arcade there
Melbourne
Yesterday (Sunday) : Didn't do much at all, except meeting up with some friends of Michael for playing DDR in the City. I failed mostly because I'm quite out of practice and I hardly knew any Song, as I usually play ITG. Still it was fun.
Today (Monday): Got up early, packed my stuff and went to the South Bank Train Station, where I had enough time to go into the Art Store of the Griffith University, and it was the best Art Store ever.

And the best thing, Sanford Col-erase pencils, even green ones!
I bought 10 as they weren't exactly cheap, then catched the train to the airport. Arrived there in time and had a late departure.

Watched Looney Tunes, Simpsons and Futurama for the whole flight
![]()
Also sketched a bit with my new pencils

This is what Victoria looks from above.
Arrived there, but didn't have a host as none of the couchsurfers replied. Luckily Kaz, a friend of a friend of Michael agreed to host me, thanks again!
No plans for tomorrow yet, I guess I'll just explore the city a bit.
Australia Zoo
Went to the Australia Zoo yesterday (Saturday), which was totally awesome!
Lots of Kangaroos there:
Parrots
Friday: feeding Parrots at O'Reillys National Park, they have really sharp claws, ouch!
Movie World
Yesterday: Lots of Laserforce, but no photos.. battery dead. Still it was very fun to play with Michael and his friends. Also the Arena was alot better than the one in Sydney.
Today Michael, Dash and me got up early and went to the Warner Brothers Movie World on Gold Coast.
It was really awesome!
We have been to the following Attractions:
- Batwing Spaceshot
- Batman Adventure
- Police Academy Stunt Show
- Shrek 4D Adventure
- Road Runnter Rollercoaster
- Scooby Doo Spooky Coaster
- Lethal Weapon Rollercoaster (4 Times.. awesome!!)
- Wild West Falls
Superman Rollercoaster was sadly closed..
Other Photos:
Lone Pine
On Monday, Michael showed me around in the Brisbane Suburbs, and to some Mountain where you could see all over Brisbane. Also spotted some wild kangaroos. For some reason, the photos are missing (argh).
On Tuesday, we went to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in the morning, to be there before all the Japanese Tourists are.
![]()
Not only Koalas but also lots of Kangaroos there
After that, we went to the Brisbane Museum, sadly they didn't have the animatronic tasmanian Tiger anymore.. still it was nice and interresting.
Brisbane
Today was my last day in Sydney for a while.. slept until 10, then walked around in Newtown a bit.
![]()
Found another great Artstore, they're everywhere!
![]()
Later, back at Bonnies House, some friends of her showed up and started making awesome music. They told me that they actually got the drums from a dumpster. They sounded great though.
![]()
and that's Eliza (who lives in the same House), me and Bonnie!
thanks for hosting me!
Later, Nathan picked up Micheal (my host in Brisbane) and me and took us to the Airport, had a nice flight.
Those Virgin Blue Flights have live satellite TV with 20 channels on every plane, amazing!
Getting some sleep now and looking forward to a having good time in Brisbane.
Party
After having some sleep, I explored the area around my hosts house a bit, and found this:
![]()
They sell everything for sculpting and casting, and it's the second store that I found that sells Super Sculpey. There are specialzed shops everywhere, I really like this about Sydney.
![]()
The central station looks for some reason very similar to the one in Zürich.
Met up with Michael later, who will host me in Brisbane yesterday, going to a friend of him who lives near Bondi Beach.
Nathan took us to a party on the north shore, which was really awesome! Met lots of great people and had alot of fun. I got the chance to try out the Canon EF 17-55mm f2.8 and the EF70-300 f4-5.6 lenses, they're great!
The next day we went to play Laserforce, which was also fun, even though I need some practice because I never played something like this before (I think there isn't even anything like this in Austria). After it we had lunch and then I went to my hosts apartment again, looking into "Goulds Bookstore" on my way there, which is a huge Store that sells all kinds of books. I hope I'll have enough time tomorrow to look around a bit more.
