Tasmanian Veteran Car Rally 2010
This post is about my favourite drawing job ever! I had to make up a Thylacine character and create a couple of drawings of him which were used used at the 2010 veteran car rally in Tasmania.
The pictures were used for the programming book, as direction signs and for merchandise!

Remote controlled 2-axis webcam with Arduino
This is a little afternoon-project I did today! It's a 2-axis mount for my webcam that allows it to be rotated 180° in each direction from anywhere in the world!
I used 2 cheap servos, random Lego parts and an Arduino Chris gave me last year. I wrote a little Program in java that acts as a server and forwards commands to the microcontroller and a Flash app that sends commands to the Java server, works great ![]()
If you have Skype and want to try controlling the cam, poke me!
Comicbörse 04/2011
Today another Comicbörse took place! Gerald, Andi, Lisa and me had a table there, and despite not selling much we had a great time!
Since sales went slow, Tyler gave sketch commissions a try:

Tyler also met this nice girl who drew 2 pages of giftart for him! (Photo by Atkelar)
After the event we had another artjam at a mexican restaurant. The food was good, but I kinda miss the huge portions and the free refills from the states!
Christmas cards 2010
I know it's late, but I wanted to wait until all cards arrive! One got lost in the mail though, so I gave up my hopes.

These are all the cards I got last christmas by my awesome friends from all over the world!
Back and fine!
It seems I forgot posting for a while, but the past week of the U.S. Trip was alot of stress and not alot of internet access! I'm back, I'm fine and I'll post drawings/photos from the trip again soon!
Brevard Zoo (14.03)
We went to a small Zoo in Melbourne with Chris and Megan that day.
After that we went to Outback stakhouse for some delicious Pumpernickel (they call it like that but it tastes like cake), fried huge onion and - of course - Steak.

This wasn't at the zoo but at a pet store a few days ago, aren't roborowskis the cutest?
Kennedy Space Center (10.03.)
Chris took us to KSC, we had a great time and we got really lucky when we got to see Endeavour from pretty close in the VAB!
Disney! (7.03.)
Finally we made it to Disney! We went with 2 Jeffs and Robin to Epcot, finally saw Captain EO, 3 Caballeros, ate lunch at the awesome German Pavillon and then made our way to Magic Kingdom for Space Mountain and Hall of Presidents, then back to Epcot where we finally get to see Soaring over California, the ride with the biggest waiting line.

Germany and Italy Pavillon

Nice flowers.

Still Epcot.

I'm sure noone ever took a photo of this.

Robin and Stitch.

Awesome Mickey!
Surplus store (5.3.)
Chris and Scott took us to a pretty awesome electronics surplus store on that day

Old meters and oscilloscopes

Only a part of the store.

Looking up datasheets for ICs, I ended up getting an embedded system and alot of components, old CPUs, a speech recording IC, a Z180 and some other stuff.

Random rainbow.
Some stuff we did so far
Since out activities were kind of limited so far by my foot I didn't have enough to write one post per day, so here is what we did the past week. My foot is already alot better, I can walk short distances already and I'm confident I can make it to Disney next week.

A photo Henrieke took in Magic Kingdom, I wasn't there though but went to FamiLab with Chris instead.

Even though I could use crutches, using these electric mobility scooters in the supermarket is way more fun.

2 Stickers, drawn by Henrieke and me and cut out on Chris' vinyl cutter. My Netbook looks so much cooler now!
Shuttle Launch (24.02.)
About 3 hours before the launch Chris, Megan, Henrieke and me went to Titusville to see the Shuttle launch from about 7 miles distance. Even though a nail that got somehow jammed into the tire made things more complicated, we made it in time well before tha launch. We found a nice place to view the launch from with many other shuttle nerds around.
Exactly on time, the shuttle launched, and a few seconds later we got to hear the loud engines and see the bright exhaust and after a minute the shuttle was out of sight already. It was AWESOME

Me, watching it go off (Photo by Henrieke)

There were also some horseshoe crabs watching! (Photo by Henrieke)
After the launch we went to a restaurant for 3 hours to avoid the worst of the traffic jam, and even after that we were stuck in the traffic jam for a long time.. ALOT of people went to see the launch apparently.
London (22.02.)
This is the first post about my U.S. Trip this year. It's a special one since I ruptured 2 ligaments on saturday, so my foot looks kinda funky now and I almost couldn't go (in fact the only reason I could go after all is due to my parents doing everything possible for me, I cannot thank them enough!)
22.02.
My brother brought me to the Vienna airport where I first ever made use of the wheelchair service. You get treated like a first class-passenger without paying more! Someone rolled me around, I didn't have to wait at security check, I got my own personal taxi to the plane and was the first to board. Also they made sure the 2 seats next to me were free so I could lie down! Another good experience with British Airways!
I finally met up with Henrieke at the airport, we made our way to our couchsurfer and tried to get to an exhibition about extinct animals in time, sadly the subways aren't very fast so we missed it. We went to the Parlament instead and enjoyed a nice city view, here are some photos:

Big Ben

London Eye
We spent the evening half-asleep at our host, Iain, who was creating a new song with a friend of his. It was really interesting to see (or more like hear) how a song gets made.
Valentines Day
Here's what I drew for Henrieke for Valentines day. The only day where pink and lots of hearts are allowed.
Space Shuttle
I tried around with some brushes in Photoshop and this came out. I'm working on some concepts for a childrens book about space shuttles. If you're working at NASA and have any clue whether NASA actually publishes books themselves please contact me

Tashtook the Opossum
This is a drawing I did for a friend of her uber-cute Opossum character Tashtook.
